A jednak!

Brawo!

I love the #Durham yoga community, y'all. I've met so many interesting people recently, and it's largely all because of the triangle #yoga community. I am so happy to see so many different colors and shapes in my classes, and so many of my fellow teachers are starting up new projects and events around town. Next week is the last week to practice w/ me at my local classes until July- I'll be in #NYC essentially until the end of the month. If you're in the #NCTriangle, check out my facebook page or website (both links are in my instagram header) for more details about my weekly teaching schedule. I'm especially lovin' my Tuesday noon class at @Durhamyoga- the space is freaking gorgeous, and I've been blessed to meet new and awesome people every week. By the way, I was thinking about teaching a last minute drop-in yoga class while I'm in New York…..is that even a thing? Is there a studio in town willing to let a gypsy yoga teacher slide in a quick hour flow for a few students? And if you live and practice in #NYC, would you come out to a last minute body positive vinyasa style class taught by yours truly? #Pinchamayurasana practice at @durhamyoga after my Tuesday class- I just can't get enough of #forearmstand, y'all. It's my predator, my master, my driving inspiration- I can't get enough. Leggings- @forever21

Today I held #pinchamayurasana w/ STRAIGHT MOTHERFUCKIN' LEGS, Y'ALL. FOR A COUPLE OF BREATHS. AND I DIDN'T FALL DOWN- I actually exited somewhat gracefully. I am obsessed w/ the way @fitqueenirene & @cbquality enter this pose because they always look as though they are effortlessly standing up, as we do when we stand on our feet. Idk if you recall, but any 1-3 year old will tell you that learning to stand on your feet is sooo hard. Therefore, it shouldn't surprise anyone that it could take years before one can comfortably find balance on the forearms, hands, or head. As it stands, I've been working on this pose for the better portion of two years and it's been a crazy ride that's definitely involved wayyy more falling down than standing up. I guess what I'm trying to say is- don't give up. No matter what. No matter how many times you fall down. Because one day you won't fall down. And the feeling will be so worth it. (By the way, if you're curious about my life off the mat or want to see outtakes from my home practice, follow @jessamynstanley- it's mostly just me, my friends, and my pets actin' a damn fool.) I'm getting so excited to attend @thecurvycon- organized by superhero bloggers @ceceolisa & @garnerstyle, this year's conference is a summit of brands, #fatshionistas, bloggers, and youtubers to discuss all things #curvy. I'm speaking on the health and fitness panel, and I'm really excited to hear the thoughts of my fellow participants. @msamberpriley is the keynote speaker, and a number of my personal blogging inspirations will be in attendance (@gabifresh! @nadiaaboulhosn!). June 20th is the day- check out @thecurvycon instagram account for more information! Also, while my schedule is a little too unpredictable to teach additional local classes, I am currently accepting private (and semi-private) yoga students. If you're interested in practicing yoga with me, but you're unable to attend my group classes (be it due to distance/time/etc), shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]. Regardless of where you live, whether it's North Carolina, New York City, California, Rome, or anywhere in between, I am confident that we can find a way to practice together.
